Creatine monohydrate compared: dissolution and purity across three premium grades
Across the three premium creatine monohydrate grades tested, iCreatine® dissolved fully in under 30 seconds with no grit or sediment and carried the lowest creatinine of the three. The two comparison grades are shown here unnamed; the full named report is available on request.
Report No. 20260506-1 · 6 May 2026
How fast does each grade dissolve?
Method: 2 g of creatine monohydrate stirred into 200 ml of room-temperature water, then assessed for dissolution time, sediment and mouthfeel.
| Sample | Dry-powder mouthfeel | State after mixing | Dissolution time | Mouthfeel after |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| iCreatine® | Smooth and dense | Almost fully dissolved | Within 30 seconds | No gritty sensation |
| Premium grade A | Most smooth and dense | Fully dissolved | Within 30 seconds | No gritty sensation |
| Premium grade B | Extremely heavy, gritty texture | Partially settled at bottom | Over 60 seconds | Strong gritty sensation |
How pure is each grade?
Assay, monohydrate equivalent and the impurities creatinine, dicyandiamide (DCD) and dihydrotriazine (DHT), measured by HPLC. All three grades exceed 100% monohydrate equivalent, indicating excellent purity; the distinguishing figure is creatinine, where a lower value reflects better manufacturing quality and stability.
| Sample | Assay (as is) | Monohydrate equiv. | Creatinine | DCD | DHT |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| iCreatine® | 90.2% | 101.3% | 116.8 ppm | 1.09 ppm | < 1 ppm |
| Premium grade A | 90.2% | 101.3% | 126.3 ppm | 1.08 ppm | < 1 ppm |
| Premium grade B | 89.9% | 101.0% | 128.8 ppm | 1.06 ppm | < 1 ppm |
